Earlier in the day on Wednesday news of Dr. Britt Baker, DMD and her AEW status became a topic of discussion on social media, following, a report from Mark O’Brien of WrestleMobs, that Baker is actively looking at leaving AEW.
Baker added to the speculation a post on her Instagram Stories, saying “Same water. The only thing that changed its value was the place.”
According to reports by Fightful Select and PWInsider, this most recent news about Baker is not true.
Fightful notes every source they’ve spoken to has “vehemently denied” Baker is trying to leave AEW. It was also said those familiar with Baker’s current situation noted they have not heard, nor has it been communicated to them, that Baker wants out of her current contract.
The report added that as it relates to the quote Baker shared on her Instagram Stories, Baker frequently shares and comments on posts she has shared from. Furthermore, others in AEW told Fightful Select they have not been told that Baker appears or gives the impression that she wants to leave the company when they see her at conventions.
Fightful Select concluded by noting that Baker still has “well over” a year left on her current contract and if AEW added time for injury, she her contract would be extended through part of 2027.
PWInsider essentially echoes Fightful Select’s report, noting while there is no currently word on when Baker will return to AEW television, according to multiple sources in AEW, there has not been any discussions as it relates to her leaving AEW or asking for a release.
